Ta’ Ġurdan Lighthouse, standing proudly on one of the highest hills in Gozo near the village of Għasri, is one of the island’s best panoramic viewpoints and historic landmarks. Built by the British in 1853, the lighthouse was designed to guide ships navigating the Gozo Channel and surrounding Mediterranean waters. Rising approximately 180 metres above sea level, the hill offers breathtaking 360° views across Gozo, Comino, Malta, and the open sea.

The lighthouse itself remains an iconic symbol of Gozo’s rural landscape, surrounded by peaceful countryside, terraced fields, and scenic walking trails. The area is especially popular with hikers, cyclists, photographers, and visitors looking to experience some of the island’s most beautiful sunrise and sunset views.
